Few people in the US care about any race longer than the 400.
If you are in the sport because of what people care about, you are in the wrong sport.
If run a race longer than the 400 and think people care about your race more than the marathon, the difference in how much people care about your event versus the marathon is pretty much insignificant.
Disagree, track fans still love the mile!

The only thing in your ramblings that makes any sense is the second paragraph.

I care more about the 1600.
If you care about any running events, you have a lot more in common with marathoners than those who don't. Are you jealous that marathoners get attention you think you deserve?
Are you guilty of the narcissism of small differences
