running 3:59 the day after running a big 3k pr in a closely contested race is surely impressive.
so was seeing brannen go out in 2:56 low to run 3:55.1--though he wasn't in it with Lagat and Rotich, he made a great run at the record. maybe a fresh webb could have taken a shot at him, but a 3k-stale webb would not have had a chance.
I also like to think that Robison is in the same league as webb. their 1500/mile/3k prs are similar, and he has credentials that stretch over a much longer period than webb's. it's really early to see anyone near top form.
he also ran 3:59.9 1600 split in dmr in 2000
You are such an unbelievably gay loser. hahaha
Uh
Out!
I have yet to see a discussion on Webb that doesn't turn to fighting
ok, so the official count is at 8 then
no one cares about a sub-4 1600m.

their 1500/mile prs are certainly not "similar."
relax alan, don't get your panties in a wad
You think Robison is in the same league as Webb? How in the hell did you come to that conclusion?? It was obvious from last year's results that Webb is on a different level than any American miler period! This was pretty evident at the trials and the race he ran in the Europe.
Well Grant Robison did make the 2nd round of the Olympics if I recall, and Mr. Webb was bounced in the first round...Heads above american milers you say...haha

He ran that Senior year indoors....
I hate to be one of those who says "he should have been running at the Boston Indoor Games" but...he should have been running at the Boston Indoor Games.
Sure 7:47/3:59 is a great workout but he is at the level now where he should be doing his workouts in practice and running his races as a professional.
To actually fly up to Boston to workout on the same weekend as a major event in the same city is a bit of a snub.

FUCK YOU! YOU JEALOUS MOFO> ^^
he could have run 3:49 if he was pushed and fresh!!
dude, robison was MOVED into the next round because he couldn't stay on his own two feet and Vin Lananna is the master of "oh, boohoo, my athlete really would have made if he hadn't run into the back of the peruvian who was on his was to running a 3:55 1500m, please advance him because he fell, please mr. olympic official."
sorry, webb did race like crap but grant ran worse, he just got lucky, that's all. webb is absolutely hands down our best miler, no argument period!
uhhh...riiiight....Hey Moron look at my name!!!! I know why robison made the second round, because it was a fluke!!! sorry to burst your bubble because i'm sure that you waited all day to make someone look bad
yeah he did run that senior year indoors but i don't recall him running a 7:47 3K the day before, do you?
absolute complete haters of webb on this board
the funny thing about all of the webb supporters on this board is that they fail to see any other quality athletes in this country (save maybe ritzenhein). any criticism to AW is considered heresy, and the poster is immediately lambasted and labeled a 'hater'.
some of us 'haters' really do like and respect webb (and I'm sure some of us don't), but are simply giving other runners their due, or making observations about AW's racing/schedule/training/etc (the snub of coming to boston and NOT running in the Indoor Games, or he ran 67.2 miles last week, or I saw him eating a candy bar).
Well put, my2cent. Haters will hate, and do all they can to pull others down to their level.
Regarding Webb, there are good arguments for him racing against the highest level of competition, esp when it is across town the same weekend. Nonetheless a solid Webb performance and indicator of great things to come.
Wouldn't it be nice to have his wheels and be able to provoke these discussions!
