Looked relaxed af. The vid is on Twitter, find it yourself.
That was a quality video. I wish distance runners would do more of that.
Altis is also very good at social media including videos

Bri went 27, 59, 1:30. definitely went out too fast and paid for it
Ash went 28, 58, 1:28, 1:58. looked easy. someone needs to teach him for how sit behind the rabbit. he ran on the outside of lane 1 on the shoulder. ventolin would have a fit
Those are basically ideal 600 splits.
Eaton actually had the poor pacing (esp as a better 400 guy), likely leaving a lot on the track.
Come on.

Considering he ran 48.69 in the 400 hurdles, I would expect him to run considerably faster in a true all out effort. 1:58 seems like more of a training run for him.
The headline was it was a decathlon race pace (1500) training run.
How astute.

No it was an INDOOR race pace run for Eaton. Hence the talk of 2.30.

Crap I was hoping he'd run 3:45 in the 1500 at the Trials:(
This does raise an interesting question in my mind- how fast do we think Ashton could run the 1500 or mile all out currently? (i.e. Not at end of the decathlon) How fast if he focused his training on it for 6 months?
Interesting hypothetical

Did he run on any hate?
Probably relaxed hate.
Actually, it was a prep for his 1000m to put a lid on his next WR, in a week and a half.

Ashton was practicing for his 1500, so he tried to run more even.
Also it should have been easier for ashton at those paces. Bri running a 600 in 1:30 is pretty much all out. Ashton running a 1:58 800 definitely isn't all out.
