7:39.55 Winning time for Farah. Choge, BB follow up about a second behind each.
I'm wrong. Blankenship faded the last 200m, getting passed by Wolde
Blankenship ran great 2800 m, but the last lap was rough.
So inconvenient for Mo to have the Worlds in Portland this year. So far from his coach and residence in Addis.
According to the announcers, Farah only closed in 58.9 for his last 400. Definitely not the most convincing kick, but he still beat some solid runners, and he beat them pretty soundly.
Good to see a pb from Butchart who is actually Scottish not English as they said during the race!

Old man Collins 6.9?
Collins hurt his calf.
Thanks saw the BBC photo with him up straight not driving as he neared the line and wondered.
Mo's not doing World Indoors.

Farah went around the pacmaker Rono, 4:03 1600m.
It looks as though Choge did not try hard this time...him & Mo were having a conversation before the race. Mo probably asked Choge to let him win n that Mo wd pay him....So Choge probably was like, "If im getting paid, why not?"
So Farah basically looked like he wanted the 7:32 British record but the pacing wasn't great. IT started off ok, 2:01.29 for 800. Farah ended up passing the rabbit though at 1500. He hit 1600 in 4:03.20 and once in the lead he wasn't up to the task of pushing it on.
He hit 2k in 5:06.56 and the record attempte was off.
After the race on BBC, Farah said, "It was kind of a messy race. The beginning was quick and then it slowed down a little bit." He said he saw the clock at 2k and realized 7:32 wasn't doable so he focused on getting the win.
"Even if I pushed [at that point], I would have only run 7:35 so I [focusedi=on ] trying to win the race."
The leaders times were as follows.
800 2:01.29
1600 - 4:03.20
2lk - 5:06.56.
2400 to go - 6:10.16
2800 to go - 7:10.63
winning time - 7:39.55
To be honest, Farah didn't look great. He only closed in 58.9. He took the lead from Choge with 350 to go. Victory was never in doubt once he got the lead but he didn't look amazing.
Maybe that's because he's going to run the World Half next month.
"The last few weeks I've been training, really grinding," said Farha who has been in Ethiopia. He talked about being disappointed that his training partner Charlie Grice got sick and wasn't able to race. He also mentioned someone named Adam who was injured.
Not sure who that refers to.
Augustine Choge might be the only athlete in history, who's status on some all-time rankings doesn't debend on his results at all. He is the GOAT in distance running - winning, loosing, slow, fast ist not important for him. Good that we have The Bad who constantly reminds us on this. Without him most of us maybe wouldn't realise this at all.
(btw, Choge is a great runner with great range, no doubt.)
Does anyone know of a link to results that work?

Why he'll never be GOAT
LOL if Augustine Choge was not in the race he would have pushed it, at the end of the day he didn;t want to lose and in British soil at that
