Mick has had no experience and doesn't seem very good at managing distance runners in this very different position than Iona of XC, Indoor, and Outdoor seasons, tougher academic progress requirements, lack of 'free agent foreigners', 3 season of very competitive conference meets, much less scholarship money as he attempts to have a full track team. Now Nuttycombe, Smith, Schumacher certainly knew how to do it, but I don't think Mick is nearly as good a coach/manager as those 3 great coaches.
Maybe schools like Iona, Portland, Furman, Providence, William & Mary, and the early years of distance-only at much bigger schools like Syracuse and Oklahoma State have some real great characteristics when coaches look for jobs and recruits look at schools?
