"Never Mind" is my favorite song.
"Tim" and "Pleased to Meet Me" are my favorite albums.
"Let it Be" is a great album cover and "Unsatisfied" is awesome but I always thought it got a little overrated.
I remember playing their version of "Black Diamond" to my friend who was actually a Kiss fan. He said it sounded like a crappy garage band. I actually thought that was a good thing. He didn't.
I guess you either "get it" or you don't.
Shots,
I was at that Oscar Mayer Theater show. In fact, I think I was sitting next to you. (How're you doing, man? Give me a call sometime--I'm in the book.) I agree it was an all-time great show. The Replacements were at the top of their game, such as it was.
Best song? All the odd numbered tracks on "Tim"
Also, Westerberg is alive and well in Minneapolis. I'm almost sure I saw him on the street while I was running last summer.
Allied Drive,
If you were sitting next to me you were up in the balcony, and you live in Minnesota, you have to be the runner with the worst set of bow legs ever to finish 8th place at U.S. Cross country nationals and your initials are T.S.
Am I right?
How you doing man? I'll definitely give you a call!
I lost Mike Taylors phone number, another Allied drive resident although he never paid rent.
Folker is growing on me too, but not as much as his earlier solo records.
Shots,
It was 6th at the cross country nationals, but otherwise, yeah, that's me. And, yes, she did look like Penny Marshall.
replacements: bastards of young or johnny's gonna die
westerberg: hide n seekin, it's a wonderful lie
The 'Mats ruled my stereo in the 80s.
Favorite song: "Answering Machine." Heard a live version that killed.
Others:
The Ledge
Little Mascara
Left of the Dial
I'll Be You
Color Me Impressed
Husker Du is definitely worth your investment. As someone else said, the crucial albums are Warehouse and Zen Arcade. Wish mine weren't vinyl, or I'd listen to them all the time.
Resurrecting the thread . . .
Anyone like Androgynous? "Cupie dolls and urine stalls will be laughed at, the way you're laughed at now."
Damn, he is a genious.
Another great line: "Take a look -- on your wedding night, in your wedding book, see what name I signed." (from Nobody)
I just played "Hootenanny" for a 28 year old girl last weekend and she loved it.
then she's a keeper.

Silver Naked Ladies is the one that most often gets stuckmin my head.
Shiftless When Idle
Everybody that's on my block
They're tired of me that ain't no shock
And I ain't got no idols
I ain't got much taste
I'm shiftless when I'm idle
I got time to waste
They tried to tell me that I should learn
They told me it's best I wait my turn
I can't wait forever
I can't wait that long
I'm shiftless when I'm idle
I want to play this ...
I'm shiftless when I'm idle
I'm shiftless when I'm idle
I'm shiftless
I'm shiftless
