Whatcha think? Does he take down the King's record?
He gets it with a Snowzilla enforced peak.
It's certainly within his reach, he just needs to have a great race. He's in terrific shape and I do think he can also get the indoor sub 4
He can break 8 in this field if he has people to run with and if he is in sub 4 shape.
he needs 7:54-58 in order to be a serious sub-4 threat.
No true. I ran 3.58 off of a maxed out 8.02. Let the kid run and develop.
unless anyone in this thread has actually talked to hunter and knows he is in shape i would bet against him running under 8:05
hard to imagine him putting in great training this past week after the storm, i live further to the east in an area that typically gets cleaned up better and it has been a struggle here to do much
weini is in the same boat probably, bad timing for a storm for them to be ready for their openers
I have spoken to Hunter. He's in great shape, and the storm that hit us doesn't mean we couldn't run on a treadmill.
Over. 8:11

Webb ran 3:59 despite only going 8:45 (8:06 3000m equivalent).

Under. 8:02.34. You heard it here first.

Webb was an 800/1500 type. Drew is a 1500/5000 type. I say under.I predict 7:59. And he'll break 4 indoors and out this year.

Exactly. Hunter was in 8:35 shape when he took down Fisher last spring. Also, Webb was not seriously pushed in his 8:45, which he ran with a head cold and off an earlier 4:03 DMR split.
Sub-8 for sure, or no sub-4.
8:01.35 exactly, and no sub 4 indoors, but will run a 3:58.45 outdoors
This, I predict.
Won't break 8:10

1) have you talked to Hunter? How do you know his fitness level?
2) Postulate whatever you like, you know about as much his training as the others. Hunter is not you. Storm, Schmorm. You argument is just as weak. Go away.
I live in Loudoun County (Hunter's county) and can confirm that we did, indeed, receive a significant amount of snow last week. If the meet is outdoors in an area that has not been plowed I am relatively sure that the snow will have a negative effect on his performance. There has been quite a bit of melt off but I still think it is an issue to run through 10+ inches of snow accumulation. Does anybody know if he is planning on using snow shoes? These may prove beneficial.
7:59.99
He is tall so that's a pretty big disadvantage. He will get close I think but there is no way he actually does it
I think he is capable, but this is a flat track, so no extra help there,
Depends on what type of race this is, if it winds up being a 7:50 or just under type of affair with a fast last 600 or so, he could get this as fractions will not leave him disconnected,
If it is a 7:45 race evenly? He might be slightly over his head unless he really measures his effort over first 1600.
