It's not unheard of. If we look at facts and not speculation, Linford Christie and Merlene Ottey both tested positive late in their careers, when they were 38 or 39 years of age.
I know KC hasn't tested positive for anything, I'm just making the point that the facts show a sprinter may be minded to dope in the twilight of their career.
Another broader fact is that top sprinters tend to dope. The top 20 fastest 100m times have all been run by sprinters who have tested positive, with the notable exception of Usain Bolt.
A simplistic conclusion of course is that only the very fast sprinters doped ... :)
