Why are so many runners airheads? I mean total wacko dips.[/quote
I believe Phoebe Wright is going for a master's degree in biology.
Her blog is deeply personal. Her experiences and thoughts come across with passion and sincerity.
Doesn't mean that she isn't an airhead.
She's smart, cute, funny, fast, seems nice and appears to be honest. Win, win, win, win, win and win.
going from 2:16 in high school to 1:58.22 and 52.3 is very impressive. I wonder if she considers whether being forced to run xc in college was part of the key to her tremendous success there. She should go back to it. That aerobic base works wonders in what is a highly aerobic event (800m).

She did run club xc nationals and the occasional 5k road race now.

I haven't seen her in a 3k or even a mile in ages

They don't usually have 3k or mile XC races, except for little kids in the Junior Olympic events.
1:58.22 half, so better than 99.99999% of the people on this board or in the world at her day job.
And the best writer in running. Always entertaining while delivering some real food for thought. Hyperbole and a half embedded in a description of overtraining? Genius.
What will they try next? wrote:

800? Highly aerobic?

Oh man...yeah, Erica... The sport is not the same without her.

Club nats is a 6k and she does low key 5Ks.
In the oldest original archived version of her blog she claims her PB is 1:58.22 and now clearly states she has never come within 1 second of it. She has never claimed to have run 1:57, stop fabricating things.

You don't have any "original archived version" of anyone's blog.
We'll see how she does in June.
I'm willing to bet this year she will again get to rabbit in some Diamond League races.
She never claimed to have run 1:57. She said 1:57 was her goal. It was in her blog, and she said it some interviews. Perfectly reasonable when your best is 1:58.

And your point, douchebag?
Somewhere in there she says she had a PR of 1:57, but now it's hidden? Rather than showing the link you moron, show the evidence.

The best writer is without a doubt Kyle Merber.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
