I love reading the different opinions on the message boards and enjoy reading even more when someone makes the point that every person is different and that there is no "One Way" to train or improve.
Being a recently certified coach myself and working in the rehabilitation industry for more than a decade, if there is one thing I feel like I can take to the bank is that while there can be a general approach to improvement (whether recovering from injury or just getting stronger, faster etc.) each person has a different attitude towards training or recovery.
As far as running 7 days a week, I do this often but noticed a drastic improvement in my ability to recover from being sore by adding 2 - 3 days of strength training via primarily body weight exercises. My experience has been to change training up a bit every 12 weeks or sooner (depending on goals) to add speed, aerobic fitness and strength. Oh... and daily stretching :)
