+1
I'd vote beer mile coverage vs. a Workout Wednesday of one of the dozen 2:12-2:15 American marathoners doing a 12 mile tempo at 5:08 pace.
The trials are 12 weeks away. There's plenty of time to cover them.
These are down weeks in running. Two weeks dedicated a beer mile while pros are building base isn't hurting the sport.
When did people become so cranky?
Looks like the beer mile world record holder will be on Ellen in the morning of race day. Not bad coverage at all.

Don't get me wrong, I know most people probably don't feel the way I do about this. Personally, that is exactly what I am paying Flotrack for. I like having access to the training of elite runners all around the country. I don't particularly care for the training/racing of beer milers. I'm not really trying to change anyone's mind here, just stating my opinion. I paid for a product. Now I feel as if a different product is being produced, and as such, will not be renewing my subscription.

I like the beer mile stuff, and this is the perfect time of year to do it. there's nothing else going on anyway. Also, flotrack never typically did off-season workout videos, because tempo runs and long runs are boring to watch.
I'm more annoyed by that stupid Saucony commercial featuring the dude who finds music through running.
+1, so annoying. Puts me off buying Saucony for life.

Agreed...also isn't the Nike HS Meet this weekend? It would be nice to see something up the up and coming athletes in this sport.

are beer milers not up and coming athletes in this sport? had you heard of lewis kent a few months ago? i'd think not. and now he's a sponsored athlete competing for a world championship.
also, nike doesn't pay flotrack so why advertise for them?
Racewalkers also compete for world championships, but you don't see us giving a crap about them either.
My favorite part of beer mile culture is the fact that the Brooks beer miler guy makes Nick Symmonds officially irrelevant.
Not only did Nick forego his spot on the WC team, but now his title sponsor has an 'athlete' that outshines Nick at Nick's second best event.
The beer mile thing was fairly entertaining last year, at a time when nothing else was going on in the running world.
Beer miles attract a lot more media attention right now than standard running events so can you blame them for covering it?

I just tuned in as it's free. Turned it off. These women are UGLY.... It's must be true beautiful women drink girly drinks.
Anyone who doesn't like this is such a debbie downer. It's getting running Mainstream coverage that it absolutely not get otherwise.
Stoked for the men's elite coming up
Corey Gallagher is a prick
Erin O'Mara takes the women's race in about 6:08. Looked totally sober during the interview.
Men's race about to begin.
I like how the judges check for excess in the bottles, once discarded.

I knew 14:30 guys who were "sponsored" and got free gear.
You really consider this a world championship?
The stream is free. No need to pay.
Did I just hear them say they only have to drink 2/3rds of the beers and can leave 4oz in the beer.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
