I wouldnt call a race with a "pacer" a tactical race.
what is this referring to...?
Only one race had a pacer. Same as last year.
Yeah what race had a pacer?
You werent there? wrote:

So, you are saying you have a problem with the "pacer"?
Should slow runners be able to race? Why were there 5 minute mile runners racing? B heat or not, that sucks..

Should guys who train and live at altitude have the same conversion as guys who train at sea level and then go to altitude to race?? idk. i guess sometimes things just dont work out he way we think they should.
Whoever is posting under the grizzly name isnt associated with the program and the comments about the 5 minute milers are uncalled for. Regardless of your feelings of its fast or not, the kids made a team and their team took them to conference, so they earned a chance to race. Let them have it.

1. It is the mile and 800m racers own fault for letting it be tactical. 800m, Barnes has run 2 races already. If the other racers had any kind of sense they would have taken it out hard. Would it have mattered? No. Barnes still would have beat their a$$. The mile is the same story. If you want to beat a sit and kick racer, you take it out hard. That simple.
2. Even though it technically didn't have a "pacer" the 3k totally had a "pacer"... some could argue it had 2 "pacers." Props to the team with the "pacer" though. If you need a guy to hit a time and have the guys to spare to help out, then do it. This team just so happened to have a guy capable of taking it out, and a guy capable of taking over and running faster after they fell off.
if you were in the race you should have ran faster
if your teammate was in the race you should have told them to take it out faster
if your athlete was in the race you should have told them to take it out faster
if your friend was in the race you should have told them to take it out faster
if your son was in the race you should have told them to take it out faster
Barnes has bigger fish to fry. He was in it, and rightfully so, to do nothing but win. Time was irrelevant to a champion like him.

I think the important thing to question is will Nick Hall use his redshirt year at Ashland? That kid has so much potential and unfortunately I don't think he'll reach it under Tom Scott at Ashland without some good training partners that are on/near his level.
Well....he did run what would have been the fastest time in the GLIAC this year.....under guess who....

Is indoor over?
