Ok, this is something that has been pissing me off for some time now. Looking at big time meets such as penn and terrier for example, you can see a number of coach's blantenly lying about their athletes performances. Right now you can look at the terrier entry list and if you know anything about the first 30 people with the top times in the 5k, you know many of them have not even come close to running the times they claim. I understand the coach's thought process in hoping their athlete gets in the fast heat, yet it punishes those athletes and coaches who refuse to lie and tell what the athlete really ran. Sure, some of those guys may be "hoping" to run that time, but aren't we all hoping to qualify for the trials, so should we all be let in because we think that is what we can run. I just think this is unfair to runners who have legit times and may not get in the fast section, the one they desreve, for important races such as this. Any thoughts!
