"Kommersant": Diack covered by doping scandals, not only Russia, but the UK and other countries
Tags Running dope Russian team Russian team wives Lamine Diack IAAF UK team Mohammed Farah Papa Diack Massata
Former President of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) Lamine Diack, the arrest yesterday on suspicion of corruption, cover the athletes from different countries applying dope.
"It's the world of athletics is no secret that Lamine Diack after his son Pope Massata Diack, until recently head of marketing programs IAAF, has created a system of bribes and extortion. We paid for everything. The scale of corruption was huge. And at the World Championship in Moscow, he even brought a few dozen of his relatives, athletics relations without. During their stay they had to pay to the organizers.
Those cases of doping were covered not only in the interests of Russia and other countries. Of course, not free. But sometimes Lamine Diack years later demanded new amounts for the course to prevent cases of which have already received the money, "- said a source familiar with the conduct of affairs in international athletics.
In particular, it is reported that the two-time Olympic champion in the women Briton Mo Farah at least four times failed a doping test, but did not give the cause of progress.
Recall that in June this year, coach Alberto Salazar Lights accused of using performance-enhancing drugs.
Mo, Bolt, ....?
It is all crumbling and crashing down. It's like the rotten implosion of the Eastern Bloc in the late '80's. Coe won't survive 2016 in office.
The original russian for the sentence in quesiton:
Ð’ чаÑтноÑти ÑообщаетÑÑ, что двукратный олимпийÑкий чемпион в беге британец Мо Фара как минимум четыре раза проваливал допинг-теÑÑ‚Ñ‹, но ход делу не давали.
English: In particular, it is reported that the two-time Olympic champion in the women Briton Mo Farah at least four times failed a doping test, but did not give the cause of progress.
What makes it iffy is the "woman Mo Farah" part. If it is sloppy journalism, and they mean Ennis, for example.
(Although the next sentence is about Salazar, giving it context clues that they mean Farah.)
Not putting much stock in this now, but it will be interesting to see the forum explode anyway.
are they referring to his no-shows, maybe?

I'm not 100% is, but apparently both the underlying paper which reported it and the twitter user who put it out have pretty good track records of accuracy.

Maybe, but this claims 4. Supposedly there were only 2 missed tests.
Hard to tell without being able to read the source.
but remember, Mo is good because he conducted his own investigation into Salazar...
Google Translate is notoriously faulty and here's a great example. If you plug that entire Russian sentence above into Translate, the section reading "чемпион в беге" does come out as "champion in the women." If you isolate just those words, though, they get translated as "champion in the race." I suspect a proper reading of the original Russian does not say anything about "women."
Somewhat poor translation...
"And involved in such schemes has not only one Russian. "Those cases of doping were covered and in the interests of other countries. Of course, not free. But sometimes Lamine Diack years later demanded new amounts for that not to give effect to the matters for which has already received the money," - said the source, adding that famous British runner, two-time Olympic champion in London 2012 (in the women's 5,000 and 10,000 m) Mo Farah at least four failed a doping test. But never the case does not have set in motion."
Deafening...
come on RWOL, an investigative article of some form or are we to dismiss this 'cause it's the cheating rooskies not us pure hearted freedom lovers???
If you take the last bit towards the end and translate it by itself it is translated from "четырежды проваливал допинг-теÑÑ‚Ñ‹." to "four failed doping tests."
The last sentence is translated as "But to the matter they never gave motion."
This means that when he failed the test they never pursued it because of bribes (most likely)

I follow @dopingnytt, who does a good job curating doping stories and statistics.
But if Farah is going down, it will take more than a Russian Language article to do it. I hope more emerges
I sure hope Farah gets nailed! But the main target remains Radcliffe!
The Russians have just adopted the "everyone is going down with us" strategy.
PR has already been nailed 3x there just to be someone ready to enforce the punishment.
Coe will make sur none ot the truth is comin gout, once again....
