What the hell is wrong with Portland? Get with the program. Don't you want an NFL team in town?

Portland already has an NFL team. The Seattle Seahawks.
Things that wont happen - this.
In pdx, bike polo > nfl
Good thing they won't. Otherwise it's likely to end up like the current stadium, downtown with zero parking. So far it is clear the PNW is not large or passionate enough to support two teams in the major leagues of football, basketball and baseball. And no, I don't consider soccer to be in the same category as those other three.
Oregonians have a duty to football to have a statewide tax to fund a brand new 70,000,000 seat, football only NFL stadium. Pro Football is what the State of Oregon is about.

As long as the stadium features a 9-lane, 400m oval, and a XC course that wiggles and meanders through the stands, then Oregon and Nike will build it.
Native Oregonians knows Washington was a pervert who raped his slaves.
Not a bad idea if they demolish butt-ugly southwest city center to make room for it. Everything south and west of the river is better off destroyed. The earthquake will do it for free but that might not happen for another 50 years.
Silicon Forest deserves to be a major city. An NFL franchise would do that.
Fares in and out of PDX are way too high compared to Seattle and San Fransciso entirely because nobody ever heard of Portland which has never had an NFL franchise.
Tax payers shouldn't pay to build stadium but Nike should to build the Nike Dome as a show palace for Nike events. Portland is largest population are outside of LA obviously that is without a NFL team and ranks ahead of Cincinnati, Kansas City, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Nashville (by half million), Jacksonville and New Orleans (by double) and obviously Green Bay although they draw most from Milwaukee which is also well under Portland.

Portland does need Phil Knight and the city leadership to step up with a more progressive view point on major league sports. The NFL is the main driving sport in the nation and Portland is too big to sit on the sidelines.
Nike could fund a stadium that could be a venue for track ala Paris and London with sliding stands to have a track hidden and also host soccer, Final Four and more but build as a venue that is interactive venue for fans with Nike fan experience.
It has to be a football ONLY stadium. No piss ant sports.
Your statement is stupid and incoherent. Taxpayers paid 100% for every NFL Stadium in existence today. Portland taxpayers should do the same. The NFL is waiting.
For the astronomical price of the typical NFL ticket, fans deserve the best views of the action that can be designed.
Pro football is not an niche sport like track/field with only parents and siblings in the stands.
Portland taxpayers will have build an NFL stadium with seats as close to the playing field as possible.
Understand.
Now you know what you must do.
Holy shit. It's the treehugging trolls this time. Why don't you Oregon peckerwoods do what you do so well to each other.
How about SLC bid on an NFL franchise?
I'm glad that Portland isn't a huge sports town. We don't need thousands of people walking around in team jerseys for a team they don't play for. I was in Seattle last week and everywhere I went were people wearing official Seahawks jerseys. This was during the week, not game day! They wear them at work, church, and restaurants. It's like they think it's actually something cool to be seen in.
Ignore them. Portland is a liitle zero on the American sports map.
