35 on the first page of that site in 2011 were in Nairobi, going down to 2:17.
496 of the 1001 best performances in 2011 were by Kenyans.
There was also a D1 Peter Kosgei at the time.
D3 Peter was faster iirc.
Which one was that?
The Kenyans and as for all africans its a chance to get a start in life if you have a inkling of talent. They run with a purpose. They are happy to get free shoes and honored to get a shoe contract, excited to get an invitation to an elite race out of Africa.
Americans want a shoe deal. That seems to be the ultimate goal. They are pleased at being the top american at bigger races well placed down the list.
You never see an african thinking about being the top african, they think/train about winning and will prepare to do just that.
