I was a marketing major.
I am now working in a well established advertising agency in a junior position.
I don't have a car--because I can't afford one!!--I take public transportation, and in Los Angeles nonetheless!
I went to an in-state, public university, and graduated with $50,000 in student loan debt, despite working 25 hours a week for the four years that I was there.
My salary is $45,000/year working +60 hours a week. I pay $800 in student loans a month, and live paycheck to paycheck.
I'm not complaining. I'm fine with my position right now. I just don't understand the attitude of everyone on this message board who seems to think that an American college education is affordable, that someone aside from students is to blame for the 1.3 trillion dollars in debt (maybe the banks? maybe the government? did we go through something like this before?), and that the climate of the American workforce is beneficial to anyone but the wealthy minority.
