Hey all, I'm in a bad situation here. This last weekend I missed morning practice because my stomach really hurt from the day before. Also a few guys on my team missed due to their alarm I believe. This is the first practice I've missed all year. However, my coach just told me that me and the team can't run at any more invites, only duel meets, for the rest of the xc season. This sucks because all the teams in my league are pretty bad and we never race anywhere like an actual xc course. I also can't race against the better runners in the area because of this, and I feel like college coaches won't be that interested in me now for not being able to run at invitationals. I really wanted to race at the Clovis Invite, etc. I don't want all my potential this year to be wasted on just running dual meets (he won't even allow us to try and make state this year). So, my question is, would you quit xc and run road 5k's and then just come back during track or would you just run the dual meets? I feel like he's just not letting me reach my potential my final season. Keep in mind, this is the ONLY practice I've missed all year.
