Is this Rupp's first road race since the 2011 NYC Half? Possibly a sign that he's at least starting to consider running a marathon?
I am pumped about this but wish it would happen in the spring. I don't get how Farah and Rupp go through an entire track season and taper and sharpen like crazy with all that speed work only to come back for a 10miler or half marathon a couple weeks after. I would be more curious to see Rupp in a fast 1500 at this point. How do they keep that strength. It would have been fun to see them in NYC Half again when they are really strong.

Watch the Flotrack video of Rupp doing his 200s before the Throwdown meet. Alberto said that Rupp started his training cycle later than usual (he took a break after USAs, which he hadn't done before), so it's possible he'll still be fairly fresh for this.
This is awesome. I cannot wait for this. I hope there is a way to watch this live.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. He said after WCs that Beijing '15 was his best 5k ever at a championship meet and that he's so close to the medals that he doesn't need any drastic changes, just small tweaks to get one. I wouldn't think 2016 or even 2017 will be the year for his first marathon.
Is the race actually in Holland, a region in western The Netherlands? Or is it elsewhere in the country? Many Nederlanders are insulted when you refer to the country as Holland. Godzidanct het is vridag!

Is there anything liberals won't get offended about?

...says the man who is expressing the fact that he is offended.
It is in Amsterdam hence North-Holland

I never met anyone actually insulted. Pretty sure NL has an equal percentage of dickweeds compared to any other country though.
But to be exact: The race is held in Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands, and Zaandam. Both are in the province of North-Holland. The capital of North-Holland is Haarlem, however. North-Holland, as well as the province of South-Holland lie in the Western part of the Netherlands.
Over under 45:30 for Rupp?

Rupp hasn't raced all summer, struggled to break 4:00 in that recent mile, and then got dropped in a 27:00+ 10k. I wouldn't expect too much from him unless he has significantly got into better shape.
Is it absurd to think pacers might go for a 44:23 world record?

Dutch people colloquially refer to the country as "Holland"... their soccer cheer is Hup Holland Hup.
Dutch people don't get offended by anything, not even Santa Claus's original helper, Black Pete. Internet libs get offended on their behalf though as it's a great opportunity to disparage ignorant Americans.
Anyone know why they're holding 10 mile races in the Netherlands? Go metric.
On another thread someone mentioned that Rupp may line up at the Olympic Trials as a build-up to 2016 Track with the option to drop if he's not having a great day.
I think it's a smart move.. there will be tons of publicity in LA2016 for the Trials and he will get tons of coverage. Perhaps #2 coverage after Meb and competing with the likes of Ryan Hall and Ritz for media darling/enemy.

Hmm, I'm not so sure. With all the appearance fee money Rupp could get from his debut marathon, why would he throw that away to essentially race for free at the Trials?
Yeah, no reason for Rupp to run a marathon before the current 3 year championship cycle runs it's course. Honestly, why does everyone think that track guys need to run marathons?
OK, so it sort of works for the great Kipchoge, one of my favorite runners ever...

Dunno if this will work outside of the Netherlands, but this channel has live coverage all day. It;'s the biggest one day race in the Netherlands with 65.000 people running.
