i've been removing the upper he'll portion of my running shoes to alleviate some Achilles pain. For those of you that do this, how do you go about gluing or taping the exposed portion of the shoe? I'm want to maintain the shoe's durability.

Make the cut as a V...........you won't have to remove much. Leave the exposed portion as is.............you won't "spoil" the shoe.
You could probably do something fancy with sikaflex or a silicone sealant or glue, but I usually just slap on some duct tape and call it good.
Try the V or buy different shoes. There should be a similar alternative with a lower or less abrasive heel.

Any ideas? I'm wearing the Brooks Launch 2 now.
How do you cut the heel tab off to relieve achilles pain? Best way.

It's the heel counter that curves in and rubs on my heel.
Do you cut down through the heel counter to the insole of the shoe, or half way down just past where it rubs?
