CONGRATULATIONS Shalane!
I'm so happy for you.
Spectacular run! Is Shalane losing her hair?
Veerle Dejaeghere, 5th place, has posted DOB 1973. 32:27 impressive for a 42 year-old.
Congrats to Shalane.
To me, she has always looked somewhat old. Too much time in the sun, elements, etc.? Congrats to her on a great race.
Congrats Shalane!
(Shalane is my dream wife. I believe she's a woman I could love, not only make love to.)
And congrats to OP too! Getting an interview with Shoemacher is almost as great a feat as Shalane's AR.
Losing hair is part of the side effects. I know it's bothering her.
You bet it is impressive--scores a 98.24. Age-adjusted time is 30:52.

Not losing hair. Forehead getting bigger.

We're from France.
Don't get me wrong...Shalene runs faster than I ever could and she has earned some pretty impressive accomplishments. I just do not get the love affair the running media seems to have with her. When she doesn't perform as well as expected she always seems to have an excuse...and that excuse never is "the other runners performed better than I did."
Remember when Americans set American records in races they won? Yeah, I don't either. But it must have happened, right?

Alan Webb, 2007.
Emma Coburn 2014...well, kinda...Evan Jager 2015...well,almost..Galen Rupp, 10000 2013? And Solinsky before him...

Shalane sets a new women's American 10km road record after a fifteen year drought.
Way to go Shalane.
Hope you are doing Tufts Ten this year.
Big Shalane fan, not surprised she's still setting ARs.
She is not losing her hair. I've followed her career for quite a while now, and she's always had a rather large forehead. She's beautiful though. Her bone structure is exquisite in my opinion, one of those things where you either have it or you don't. Very classic look.
And it's lame to rip on a woman's looks.
9/10
