A slow 1500, the Americans sit and kick in the back and the Norwegian went for it. He didn't get the win but at least he gave it a shot.

Ingebrigtsen was pissed after not making the final in Beijing and wanted to show everybody he belonged up there. Awesome to watch, was on my feet in front of the TV on that last lap
Not making the WC final is gutsy?
LOL!
Because Androgel doesn't improve your guts.
Multiple rounds of qualification beats the guts out of anyone.
Inge. is also less fatigued than the guys who ran the final in beijing.

I saw several "INGEBRIGHTSEN!" threads, and thought, "did this guy win" ( I hadn't watched the race". ) Imagine my surprise when I went to the results and saw: slow, tactical race, finished well off the lead in 6th.
What am I missing? "Went for it" in a slow, non-championship race,.....and got crushed.
Inspirational.
I get really excited by runners with big balls.

Another great post by HardLoper.
Because we want to make finals and win medals at 3 of the last 4 major championships.
People will always run faster, but you can't take someone's medal away.
not true! Steve Scott, LA 1984. Boom off the front he went.

Guess why Pre inspires thousands of runners. Or why many of us only remember the winner and the 4th placer of the OG 1988 5000 .
But I don't expect an emotionally stunted retard to understand this. That's why people like you never get anywhere in life.
He was 9th in his heat in Beijing, 3:43.9, what guts are you describing? Furthermore he got beat in the homestretch anyhow, so is that guts or foolishness? Both Leo and Robby represented the United States very well in China, your knowledge of track and field is lacking and as such you ought to remain quiet.
If seb coe did that he wouldn't have blown them away. Great tactics from a not fit enough person.

Meb did.

The silver medal winner in the ' 88 5000 is probably the best known actually.
He didn't go nearly hard enough to hold them off, but I admire his guts for going for it when the field was sitting back at close to 60 second pace at that point. He was caught, sure, but still took a number of scalps and maybe next time he'll go the whole way.

- just watched '84 weltklasse 1500 this evening looking for today's meet. Pity scott used such bad tactics in la. He kicked down abascal (oly bronze) like it was nothing.
Guts in the DL meet, moron. Are you not paying attention?
So, only those that win have guts? Got it.
Video?
