I didn't bother to watch any of the track championships this year since my little caveman Nicky wasn't running. We keep it quiet so that TMZ will leave us alone, but we're still going hot and heavy.

I was pissed when we got no one in the final and, given the slow pace, he may have medaled.
They should have let him run.
I really think he was injured and used it to get out of running but still make a positive change.

Ummm nothing was changed.
Nick gloating about no Americans in the final was distasteful. That show he only cares about Nick.
Athletes who think he was fighting for their rights are fools. Nick would sell you out for a paycheck in a heartbeat.
If Nick was in great shape. Why isn't he running in meets now?

Yeah, he was as big of a threat as his Brooks teammate who also made the team... and what's his name again? It's hard to remember because I saw him only once in Beijing.

What a dorky argument device: "What's his name?" So dull, lacking in intelligence, and not even clever. Any track fan knows his name. And bringing him into the debate doesn't change anything: Symmonds had a great chance to win in Beijing. You're not a track fan, so in the context of this forum, you're Nobody.
Okay. Can you name every runner who was eliminated in the 1st round of every distance? If you cannot, you are not a track fan, according to your logic. And your opinion does not count.

What you're doing now is called "Doubling Down." It's a device often used by liars and fools. You got called out on your earlier stupid argument, and so you respond with an escalated argument that's even stupider. I win.

You know what else was stupid? You wrote
"Yeah, he was as big of a threat as his Brooks teammate who also made the team." You're trying to be Evil, and you're against Nick, and yet... You mention his sponsor's name in your post!?!! Brooks. Brooks. Any villian with half a brain would have stopped to consider the effect of that, and reconstructed the sentence to read
"Yeah, he was as big a threat as his teammate with the same sponsor..."
But no. You said Brooks. You said Brooks. I need some shoes now, what brand should I consider? Hmm... I know, maybe Brooks?

You're probably not the only one.
Nobody's thinking about Nick anymore. Oops, here's another positive story about Nick...

Symmonds was only a threat to the buffet table.
Yeah & I've been a fan longer than you've been alive sonny
No, Symmonds was much more of a medal threat because Symmonds made the team.
Buffet table? You mean he was out of shape? That's already been covered, geezer. He trained to peak at worlds. He was in excellent shape.
I've got chunks of fans like you in my stool.
One thing I learned from your post: You Care.
Lol, Chunky wins.
Symmonds has never really resonated with me on a personal level, but I support him in the fight he has picked with USATF and think that he's a very entertaining racer. I didn't doubt that he would win the USATF championship this summer and I don't doubt that he would have been a factor in the world final. It's too bad that he wasn't there (especially in light of underwhelming performance by the US distance squad) and it's awfully depressing to see the number of posters who are apparently delighted that an obviously corrupt and mismanaged organization like USATF is able to exert so much control over american athletes.

I bought two pair of Nike shoes during the wolds. So there we cancel each other out.

Nice try, but Nike's annual revenue (2014) was $7.4 billion, and Brooks is somewhere around $500 million. You needed to buy 30 pairs just to stay even, otherwise Brooks is gaining market share.

You need to get your facts straight. Nike is a 27 Billion dollar company for 2014 global revenues. I'd need to buy 120 shoes.
That final would not have suited Symmonds. His strength in the 800 is that he's the fastest 1500m runner. He's probably the slowest at 400m though. He runs best hanging off a fast pace running even splits, like a miler running 800m. The winner of that race is a 45 second 400m runner. It was a kickers race suiting 400m types. Nick ran a 48 second 400m leading up to the race. He would have been toast in that race.
The big development is that dope testing has taken the sail out of the USATF High Performance division. USATF athletes won only one distance medal due to the doping crackdown.

Hahah are u freaking serious!? How didn't it play to his strength. This man loves to start slow and come from behind. He would have sat in the top 3 off the slow pace and kicked hard into the finish and would have medaled. This was his chance at gold. It probably will never happen again like this when Aman and the Botswana guy get back to the finals.
Yes, the fact that it was slow played to Symmonds' strength. But it was so slow Rudisha (and others) closed in 24.xx. Nick can't do that. He doesn't have that kind of raw speed. It's a shame Loxom didn't make the final because he does have that kind of speed.

Lol, Chunky LOSER.
no one wins.
second, the Poster is correct. Symmonds was no medal threat because he wasn't there...just like the other two.
Third. Symmonds admitted recently he stopped training and was "on vacation" you're telling me that he went from peak shape to On Vacation and lost all that fitness.
His 400m at the Hoka meet was a joke.

Is that why Symmonds made a stink now? Could he be dirty?
Nick has one decent play in the 800m. Follow off the pace in a fast race, going through in 51 and slowing down the least in the second lap. 52 on his best day, 53 on a good day. As the best miler of the 800m guys, his strength is his endurance. A slow first lap suits the 400m types. Solomon would have done well in that race. He's crazy for running a fast pace at nationals against Symmonds.
