Choge will choke like normal at the World Championships.

Yep all that talent and he choked again! Poor Augustine.
VIPAM what made you think Augustine would be a choker way back in 2004 when he was only 17 years old and running outstanding?
Don't get too excited over Augustine beating Abel in Shanghai! Augustine can be a beast in non-championship races. He still hasn't achieved his potential, by now I figured his personal best would be:1500m.....3:28.03000m.....7:24.55000m....12:42.5and several Olympic and World medalist of any color..............

In the beginnning of his career I saw some of Augustine's races in which he appeared full of run then when challenged he crumbled. After noticing a few of those I hoped he would defeat that demon; however, his Championship races continue to be disappointing for someone of his incredible talent!
Man I can't believe Augustine blew up again running 1:50.03 in the Oslo 800m to finish dead last. Epic battle up front with David Rudisha 1:42.04 to A. Kaki 1:42.23 WOW. Augustine is an unbelieveable talent but can't put it all together in the 800m or 1500m. Maybe it's time for him to move up to the 5000m and 10000m where he seems to perform much and not run with so much stress.
Augustine stated he will focus on the 10000m and 5000m for 2017 Worlds, finally the distance he should have been running. The guy ran sub 29:10 in altitude at agr 16. He needs to get his mind right because hevslways had the talent to come EXTREMELY close to Kenenisa type performances.
Just like I think Jordan Hasay is another runner who will shock the world with spordic glimpses of greatness in her new event. Her debut was great but just the tip of things POSSIBLY to come and same with Augustine.
OH really
What kind of a loser bumps his own 13 year old thread?
The difference between Choge and Hasay is that Choge has been running professionally for decades, thus unlikely to have a huge breakthrough.

This Vipem fellow is just doubling down on a past poor prediction. Sure, it's a decade old. Sure, it's ridiculous.
Not different than what we're seeing from the mainstream media outlets. Just keep doubling down until something goes your way.
Back in 2004 I wasnt predicting greatness for Augustine. I was saying he had the talent tobe closer to Kenenisa level than any other athlete but lacked the support of the Ethopians and the mental toughness of the legendary runners. Will he run the 26:25 I think he is capable of in 2-3 years, NO. He can and will run 26:50 but will seldomly if ever push himself to his full potential.

Augustine Choge is NOT going to run 26:50. Choge might have been capable of that years ago, but not anymore. Choge will never break 13 again either.

Why do so many of you need to be so damn negative? Nobody thought Bekele was gonna do anything after his multiple year hiatus, and then he goes and runs the second fastest marathon EVER. Choge is a great runner, at least try to have some hope god dammit.

I am much smarter than you. Why should I dumb myself down to be like you? Choge has not broken 13 in 11'years. Why would he start now?
In before someone says in before me.
Choge is already the only runner ever to have ran
sub 1:45
sub 3:30
sub 7:30
sub 12:55
and once he runs sub 27, he will be the undisputed GOAT runner 800+ (he already is GOAT runner 800+ but it is disputed)
Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
Post about women banditing Brooklyn half marathon going viral on X
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
