1. After a decade out of college and the latter years completely off, definitely a year. My goal initially was to build up to fitness to go for an hour run on my birthday which was happening on vacation. The love doesn't go away and started finding new little goals and kept going. Running was rocky as hell that first year but dear god did it all feel great.
2. Running everyday solo hasn't been a huge deal. But it makes me seek out people to run with and reconnects me to this past life and all the great people involved.
3. I feel 10,000 times smarter in training, like I can get so much more out of much less. I proved it by setting new PRs on modest training with a 20 year age gap. It's all about recovery and staying within your wheelhouse.
4. It's all about the mile. But playing with training regiments is a blast at all distances when you can finally be reasonable and smart.
5. Running is a great diversion from life's stresses and makes me feel great. Gives me fullfillment in chasing goals. Ive reconnected with so many people that have always been family to me. I know there's limits to how good I can be and am grateful for everyday that I still have time to get out there.
Thanks for asking.
