Assuming good weather Kiprop goes 3:48.84
Quite possibly it turns into a kickers race. Then 3:51.77

Monaco gets the fastest times of the year because Kiprop goes with the pacers there and no one does the same elsewhere.

Wasn't he mostly dead in Prague? Like for real, not invigorated like Cruz, Komen and Rudisha by a close series of races.
PS Why did you delete your other thread? Things get too hot?
1.08x3:26.6=3:43.13
I'd love to see Kiprop go with the pacers in a mile race for once.

Well, if he hadn't run 1:42.97 on a "trampoline track", it wouldn't sound half as good.
It's amazing Radish didn't drop a bomb at Monaco some time during his career yet and break 1:40.
And Centro was how far back from Asbel? Really? A guy in Centro's recent form was nearly 4 seconds back from a 1:30-ish leader?
Bosse just ran 1:44.3 on a trampoline track and Aman 1:44+
Ndiku ran only 7:35, yet smoked Koech .. when they were really running, what, 7:4+ pace? And yet could only beat Garret Heath by less than 3 seconds?
The women only 1 person break 50 on this astonishingly fast track.
Tyson Gay, who's been running well, barely broke 10, and he and Gatlin were the only 2 people in the race to do so.
Super fast track indeed.
Guys, a "trampoline track" would make you can SLOWER
You don't want vertical momentum, you want more ENERGY RETURN, mondo tracks vs synthetic track provide a difference in energy return, because the track is more compact there's less contact time spent between your body and the track, that impact causes stress that fatigues your body over time
The Monaco track seems to have a different material, something even better than high profile mondo, I'm not sure what it is, but something definitely doesn't seem right, and if we're going to make such a big deal about doping in the sport I'd suggest we at least take time out to investigate this track
"I'm curious what the Africans think about the mile race in general"They think of it as slightly longer than the 1500m.

Does anyone know what the great Africans think about the mile race and its history? Alternatively, has anyone ever read any articles about outside perspectives on the all-too-infrequently-run mile distance (and the even less-run two-miler)?

Only Brits and Americans care about the mile. To the rest of the world, it's like pounds, ounces fahrenheit, and yards: we don't get it and never will.
This. It is an irrelevant sideshow, like nobody will turn to his TV because of the specific distance.

That's so stupid. How can you equate a potentially fast track to doping??? The track is the same for everyone. Everyone gets to run fast there. Why is that a problem? And like vent said, if Dibaba's WR is ratified, that means the track is good.

Regarding this nonsense about the Monaco track, this is the final word.
Air quality is very good in Monaco too guys. Not sure how no ones mentioned this. The city is surrounded by pure lush mountains and ocean, also doubt there is much true industrial pollution. I'd advise a trip there if you ever have the opportunity, its quite unique.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
