What are your guys thoughts on the new LunarTempo? I'm thinking of getting it but I've had bad experiences with Nike in the past. What can you guys tell me about this shoe?

thumbs up from me - have raced, tempo'd, and even done intervals on the track in them - would buy again without hesitation.
I'm debating between the LunarTempo and Zantes. I've really never worn Nike's, and my concern with the LT's is they will not hold up very long.
the Lunartempo is a lot softer than the Zante and probably won't last as long due to the lack of outsole rubber, but it is a lot lighter and if you have an efficient stride you should be able to take these out pretty long. i'm going on close to 4 months with my LTs and they still feel great.
just try them both on, it's really just a matter of comfort and personal preference

+1
Fabulous shoe.
The shoe was a little bit too soft for me, and I was getting some achilles strain with my heel sinking so much. I fixed this by replacing the stock Ortholite insole with a Sof Sole Thin Fit insole which is stiffer. The weight difference between the the insoles was .6 oz vs 1 oz per insole, but the improved feel of the shoe was worth the small weight increase.
With the insole change, I really like the shoe for long runs and tempo, and I'm going to use it for my upcoming marathon because of its cushioning.
My favorite recent shoe though out of the box is the Boston Boost 5. The fit and responsiveness of this shoe is sublime, and I'd probably wear it for the marathon in my younger and lighter days (presently 5'5" and 135 lbs), but for road and trail at shorter distances, this is the shoe I would take over all my other shoes.
My thoughts are that they are Nikes, and for that reason I would never buy them.
Hi.
I bought a pair from Nike Town London a few weeks ago and have been impressed with them.
I am a life long Nike man, but will give an open opinion.
Like one the op says that they are a bit soft.
I agree with that, but the ride quality whether an easy run or road reps is very stable and locked down.
However, to counteract this spongy feel, I put in a set of old track spike lasts, which counteracted this and gave a slightly firmer ride.
I have now decided to leave the lasts in for easy runs, and take them out for faster stuff, for example:
This was borne out last week when I had a spike mix up before an 800m race.
I decided to race in the Tempo's and ran a seasons best.
Last night, in spikes I was .8 slower than last week !
These shoes are not especially cheap, mine were £100, but they double up extremely well as an ordinary trainer and out and out racer - with a little adjustment if necessary.
Hope this is useful for you.
