This may be the funniest post I have read in a while. It is ironic, since the firestorm or things with the NOP I haven't heard of any crazy post race workouts. I know it is now getting to the main part of the track season and they are doing longer races, but they have certainly been under the radar about anything like that if they were doing them. Ha. Very funny.

I apologize for not doing my research and checking who wrote it
however, I find it unlikely that you would use a similar title for any of the other races.
We didn't put Jon's name on it so you didn't know who wrote it.
Symmonds won the 800. What picture did I lead with? Solomon crumpled to the track.
I think that Galen Rupp would get a headline like this is a testament to what he has accomplished. Not many people can have a headline where qualifying for a world team in any capacity is an underperformance, but Rupp certainly is at that point. There is basically no winning for Rupp at a US Championships anymore. If he comes in first, it's because he was supposed to. If he doesn't, then he underperformed. That is his current reality. His victories can only come on the biggest stages, which this year, is world championships, and even this stage is not big enough for him to be clear of criticism for performances that would be viewed as great by other American athletes. Assuming that nothing goes wrong from here to worlds (not a safe assumption given his current circumstances) I think a similar headline would be warranted if he fails to medal in the 10k. He was the #1 10,000m runner in the world last year. We should be able to expect him to medal at that distance and if he doesn't, he should expect to be criticized. That comes with being as good as he is. Galen Rupp is the best distance runner on the track that the United States has ever had and he has to carry that mantle and all that comes with it. At the same time, I don't think that if he slips to 3rd at worlds that the headline would read "Rupp almost fails to medal at World Championships." Gatlin or Simpson might still get that headline.
bahahahahahahahahaha!

I don't think this has to do with whatever feelings the BroJos (or Jonathan) have or don't have towards Galen Rupp and the rest of the NOP.

I totally agree 100% with Jon. I read your initial post and said, "Sounds like a perfect headline to me".
Rupp almost not making the top 3 is a huge, huge story. He has dominated everything of late.
Good headline Jon.
Wow, big shock there that members of your queer echo chamber immediately jump to fellate one another.
