I never watch tv to get facts, unlike retards like you.

Perhaps because, that's what it is.
As someone that typically hates listening to Larry Rawson for so many reasons, I haven't minded Carrie Tollefson and I think a few more years of experience and she will be here to stay for a very long time. I hope they have Tim Hutchinson every year for every meet.... He has been absolutely terrific.
I would pay for a "mute commentary" feature that would allow you to still hear the crowd noise and stadium announcer but not hear Tollefson. If you just mute everything you miss out on crowd noise and atmosphere but missing that is better than hearing Tollefson speak.
I don't think she's terrible, I think she's annoying. She spends the most time talking about her friends or Minnesota athletes. For example Heather Kamp was leading the prelim and Jenny WORLD CHAMP DIAMOND LEAGUE CHAMP is leading next to her and she goes on and on about Kamp…really? She does this pretty consistently and most her friends aren't even in the top 5. Her accent though is ridiculous. Idk if she thinks it's cute but it sounds like she overplays it as well.

It is "three hundredths" moran. It's as bad as saying they set the bar to a new "heighth."

I get it
three hundredths of a second is a notation of the passage of time and three one hundredths of a second are three individual 1/100s of a second.
Carrie is from MN so pretty much has a speach impediment. But I've seen worse and like her positive attitude.
I can't be sure of this but Carrie has been doing commentary for close to a decade? How much more experience does she or anyone need? And I agree Rawson is quite a difficult pill. Every year he diminishes my Boston Marathon viewing experience. Perhaps you don't mind Carrie because compared to Larry she is an improvement? .
Stones is good. Dan O'Brien is good. Tony Revis is good. Did you ever see/hear Salazar? stiff as oak. I don't know who the guy was who did the racewalk but he did a good job with a difficult subject. A lot of the web announcer were much better than the NBC "stars". Tom Hammond is a real bore as well and it is quite apparent he knows NOTHING about athletics
Ato Bolden is okay, but a bit boring, as he and most none Brits can't seem to simply call the race. During the heat of competition most announcer sound as if they are lounging in the parlor discussing equestrian.
Hutchins on top..Cram second..even Steve Ovett is good and Brendan Foster knows his stuff and is quite engaging at times..Patrick Anderson from Jamaica is really good as well.

Yes. If three different races were each won by one hundredth of a second, then it would make sense to say "three one hundredths" when discussing the margins of victory. But only as a set of discrete quantities, not as a sum total. The combined margin of victory would be three hundredths.
I hope Hutchings reads this stuff so he can learn better English. If so he could become a great commentator.
He who says someone is worse than Carol Lewis hasn't sat through enough of Carol Lewis. Incredibly PC move on NBC's part and a lack of respect for the sport. A guy like Al Michaels is not affected so much by the politics, drama queens, who ate what for dinner last night etc... He just did his research on results and called the races as they were happening. Classic voice too. Well when you're good, money talks and lesser qualified announcers will go to the minor sports. Who wrote the NOP dialogue for Hammond to read every day prior to a Rupp race? Even NBC doesn't respect the sport and feels the average viewer actually cares about that crap when they could have been showing more competition instead. American broadcasting is always subject to Hollywood embellishment. By the way, Ato Bolden stinks. He cares more about his paycheck than his product. Again, lesser talent goes to the minor sports.

I like her home/workout videos. She's quirky and yet fun to watch. Go easy on her, I think she does fine on commentating.
she added quite a bit to the women's 5 commentary, pointing out some of the best kickers and picking tully correctly well ahead of the finish.

Carrie mangled that last lap...especially after Katie Mackey fell she disagreed with Tim over the outcome of that fall.. Tim was spot on...Carrie didn't know what the %^&& she was talking about when she cited some rule about the restart of a race after a fall. Tim Hutchins again asked her to sort this out? She said it was a USATF rule and not international...(Well then how come it was not used at THE USATF Championship meeting??).
To compare her to Tim is not within my realm of possibilities. Carrie has that Sarah Palin accent which does not help. Carrie didn't have a favorite as she must have named half the field when asked to name her top pick.
And to all of you people out there who vote with their eyes..yeah Carrie is pretty..but I would have to say she is pretty bad..
Americans are used to bad announcing so they haven't a clue to what is good. Carrie would not make it as an announcer in ANY English speaking country outside the USA. Go easy on her? I wish she would go easy on my ears...oh she gets a bye because she is attractive? Paula Radcliffe would blow her away on the track and in the announcing booth.
What is so PC about Carol Lewis? They gave her a shot and she didn't improve.. Ato Bolden is better than most and he certainly helps Tom Hammond along. But Hammond is perhaps the worst of all..NBC puts no effort into athletics as they look at it an Olympic step stone.
NBC has zero respect for any sport that does not have timeouts. You really need to take a look at that collection of producers and assorted senior staff who put these broadcast together..not one of them have ever held a baton. The production meetings are a painful mess of inaccuracy.
Al Michaels??? your kidding right? You really need to spend some time in the UK and watch a major athletics meeting. Jonathan Edwards, that's right, the triple jump world record holder, is a better announcer and analyst, host than ANY of the American teams assembled by NBC.
Tim is good, I like him. He seems to do his homework more than anyone else. Tom Hammond absolutely stinks. I think he has a pre-written script that he will read for the start of any staggered sprint. Doesn't matter who is leading.
All Tom wants to say is "And here they come down the homestretch!" He should go back to horse racing.
She has a nice butt.
15. The Starter or any Recall Starter, after the start signal, who is of the opinion that the
start was not fair, or who hears the false start acoustic signal generated by a false start
detection apparatus, see Rule 161.4, shall recall the competitors by firing a pistol or
sounding a distinctive recall tone.
NOTE: Except for Rule 252.1, a recall, for a fall by a competitor, shall occur only
when the opinion of a member of the start team is such that the fall is wholly part of
an "unfair start". Any incident recalled for an "unfair start" must have taken place
within close proximity to the start line and be clearly associated with the start. A
distance beyond 10 meters shall not be considered “close proximity” to the start line.
RULE 252
START
1. Cross country and mountain running races shall be started by the firing of a pistol or
other suitable device. The commands for races longer than 400m should be used. See
Rule 162.8. However, where a race will be started using a different procedure, such
procedure should be clearly conveyed to all competitors either in writing or by public
address announcement. A race may be recalled upon a false start or a fall which
impacts the field within the first 100m.
She may have been mixing the distances up between track and cc, but she was right, the start can be recalled for a fall.

Look, they had to fill a post with a chick to remain politically correct and meet quotas, and yes Carol filled two of those needs but was just to shrill, and as unprepared as Carrie is, she's much preferable to Larry Rawson as he sends me stabbing at the mute button every time I hear his voice or see his ugly mug.
I enjoy Ato Bolden and Dwight Stones as anchored by Hutchings but that ain't gonna happen. I wish Larry well down at the local high school track.
