And that is a main point of this debate that people with no empathy or sympathy for others want to ignore: We are all making choices what to believe and not believe with a lack of "smoking gun" evidence, as you say. I think your post was well written, made good sense, and was open ended enough not to demand thought. I still disagree about guilt.
I think your cheating analogy was also well done (I feel similar about the whole situation) and I absolutely accept your point that there is a whole lot of friggin' smoke for there not to be fire, but I am standing on the side of NOP because at the end of the day, without the final conclusion, we choose to believe what we wish.
I wholeheartedly accept that my little fantasy may crash down around me. That is my choice. I can live with it. :)
