YO FORGET THE 5K
ANDRE DE GRASSE PULLS OFF THE SAME-DAY DOUBLE
There are no words, wow, just wow. This guy = half of USC's points. What a legend.
Fisher whooped Haney at Adidas last year and now Haney is 3rd in the NCAA beating 22 year old men? Talk about progression and potential. His speed is deadly.

Isn't his double faster than Gatlin's doubles this year? Yes, it was windy, but not THAT windy. Can't believe I didn't know this guy before. That's world-class speed.

No, it's just God. He's very careful about who he blesses at NCAAs.

I have to laugh when there is the inevitable simpleton post about the slow 1500 from someone without a clue. That is most definitely not why track is not doing well. It is a race, not a time trial. Learn to appreciate the tactics involved and maybe you will enjoy it instead of spouting ignorant statements.
The problem is that it is no longer a distance race. No more "exciting" than the open 400.
Most likely the 5,000 Will really be an 800.
I've bitched for years about the head-on, no depth perception camera angles in the horizontal jumps at Hayward, but assumed that there was a good reason for that. Then, after Dendy's last jump Rawson started in on another "you want to know how far that is", and instead of comparing it to a humpback whale or something, they showed the jump from the side. They had the camera all along?!?
Someone said it during the 10K the other night - ESPN is basically trolling us now.
Oh man - now Rawson is reading that 4th grade report about Hayward Field again.
SO 19.58 w 2.4 translates to?
19.8 ish? Man this kid is for real.

You're being optimistic. It's going to be slow and boring for sure.
9.75 (2.4) and 19.57 (2.4) by Andre De Grasse. Totally unbelievable.
Bromell has run 9.88 and 19.86 today and has a 2nd and 3rd place to show for it, not even being close to winning.
19.58 from De Grasse.. and the wind wasn't that much over the allowable. This guy is for real.
21.11 -> 20.38 -> 19.58 (probably 19.6-19.7 without the wind) in just three years.
I don't think his training schedule will be conducive to make a serious medal run at the WC this year, probably, but Rio just got a lot more interesting.

Seriously. I'm not even sure that Haney PR'd last year, but look at him now

Hard to say for sure, but it's probably not any worse than 19.7, actually. That was a seriously amazing run.
Men's 5K- 75F, only 34% humidity, 13 mph.
VERY NORMAL TO GOOD CONDITIONS IN JUNE.
The Duke coach likes Hayward field.

There were no tactics involved. They just all jogged for 1100 m and sprinted the last lap

My pick is KEmboi in the 800. ti's very windy. not a good day to be leading.
I wonder if when worlds are here they'll do something to block the wind.
I wonder if when worlds are there nike'll stop the rotation of the planet.
Hope Cheserek is not feeling sorry for the other guy.
Bummer if he lets Jenkins win again.
It is so hard to listen to Rawson. Just get rid of this guy!!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
