Still riding here. Topped 120 miles this week and participated in a fun group ride this morning at daybreak. Hung with the "A" group riders and knocked out 25 miles.

356W yesterday for 19' climb. About 5.3 w/kg. All thanks to the mystical power of sea level. Easily 10% better than at altitude.
Been steady losing weight, remains to be seen how low it can get without breaking down/power loss, but 6w/kg for 20' at sea level and 5.5 w/kg at altitude seem plausible.
Next big goal is a long ways off, but will be Tour of the Gila in late April. Time to get as much racing experience as possible.
I relate to your comment on weight loss. I've dropped 14 lbs and I am a much better cyclist. I'd like to drop 12 more pounds.
Never mixed running and biking, I don't liek biking ehough

Yea at 5'7" I'm a little guy so I have reason to think 60kg is plausible.
I started in December at 75kg and at my current 67kg I'm already a totally different athlete. It makes sense when you think about the percentage difference...but actually doing it almost feels too good to be true in terms of how well you start to ride...especially uphill.
Began seriously cycling again this year after a 30 year absence. (did casual rides, though) after deciding to race in the Dirty Kanza 200 mile Gravel race. Switched from running 6 days a week to riding 5 and running 2. The cycling upped my endurance similar to past marathon training and I was running faster a faster 5k than the previous year by 1 minute.
I'm trying to leverage that endurance for a quality marathon this autumn and am now running 5 and cycling 2 days per week. So I'm running around 55 miles and cycling about 60 - 80 per week. Cycling days are fairly hilly as there are few flat rides in eastern KS.
It's nice to be able to jump into a long training ride or an organized century without the dread of the last 20 miles.
I've learned a TON about eating and drinking on the go and realize I made a lot of mistakes in previous marathons that probably cost me a few minutes.
Looking forward to Nov. 8th!
Roy, thanks for sharing your training. My fitness level has really increased from strictly biking. I should run a 5k just for fun and see what kind of number I can post.
Biked 25 miles this morning at daybreak with my A group training partner and then rode another 20 with my wife. Great morning of riding. Now I have to work up the energy to cut the grass.
20 miles with temps at 94 degrees and humid. Real feel temp 106 according to Accu-weather. Biking strong and feeling strong.
Hammered the bike yesterday on our group ride and it was a treat. 130 miles for the week. Loving it !
