You couldn't come up with something funnier?
There are readers here who have family members, parents who have committed suicide. Try harder.
...I figured one day some sour grapes think like this would happen, surprised it has taken so long.
However -- I won't be slicing up and eating my Oregon singlet just yet.
1. As with all these stories, I'll wait for things to play out.
2. I highly recommend that all intelligent people here read the book "You Are Not So Smart." The salient chapters point out how wrong people can be when they think they see or hear something and how they then create a narrative in their head. I had (unfortunately) a business partner that started lying, the first time she told the lie, I could tell she knew she was lying, and she knew I knew she was lying, because I told her I knew she had just made up what she said. Later in the lunch conversation, she told the same lie again, only this time, I read her body language and her voice, and she completely had convinced herself that her lie was true. The result was she wasted 500k of her father's money suing our venture capitalist, 25 people lost their jobs, she lost her company, her income, all her friends, and she lost the case, and was sued by other people for her lies, and she lost those cases too.
The point is, we create biases in our heads and then CREATE a narrative in our mind, which we repeat to ourselves over and over again until we believe it is true. This is part of how some sociopaths operate. Some just lie instantly with a chip missing in their heads. And then there is confirmation bias. Plant an idea in people's heads, and if it fits their agenda, they may run with it with passion. So, ask yourself this along the way, what motive could some of these people have to inflate the narrative in their heads? Your best position, and an intellectual in any of these matters, is to - let the story and facts play out and come out over time.
I'll wait and watch and let things play out.
Somewhere between the worst haters here, and Alberto the Catholic square not despoiling Nike is the truth.
