So I finished up track season recently but did not take any time off yet as I signed up for a 5k to gauge my fitness going into summer. I just did a few workouts to stay in shape and one 5k specific workout just because I am rather unfamiliar with 5k pace. Anyway, the 5k is this Saturday. Normally, I would just take a week off after the 5k and then get back into it slowly. But I signed up for a camp this summer that will take me out of my training for at least 5 days, at most 7. It's in early June. Should I just wait until then and let that be my week off? That almost seems too long to wait and I don't want to risk overtraining or injury. Should I take a mini break after this Saturday? How long?
