Apart from the 3000m I don't think this event is that exciting - and I need to leave for work just as that race starts!
Are you on drugs? (Or just bitter that you can't watch it as you have work so you are trying to make yourself feel better - get off the internet and watch it taped on slingtv as you don't know the results).
You don't think KIprop versus Souleiman and Aman at 800 is exciting? But I bet you loved watching the white guys run 1:46 in Oxy last night. ;)
Kiprop and Souleiman are two of the greatest mid-d talents in history. Aman is an 800 stud.
And saying "apart from the 3000m" is kind of like saying, "Apart from LeBron James, I don't think the Cavaliers are worth watching."
For years, everyone has said Mo Farah doesn't run the circuit, he doesn't face the competition and he doesn't chase fast times. We get to see all of that go by the wayside today.
One of the problems with track is their are so many events. In my mind, they could have a meet with just the men's 3000 and I'd pay to watch it. Hell have that and the men's 800 with fireworks and intros like World Relays.
But there is A TON of other good stuff: The world's fastest man (of late)- Justin Gatlin, Allyson Felix and Sanya Richards-Ross, and a great women's 100 hurdles with the last two Olympic champs (Dawn Harper Nelson/ Sally Pearso)n.
And oh yeah, we also get to see Jenny Simpson's biggest rivals show their early season form in the women's 1500.
This meet is truly awesome if you are a true track fan, not just a fan of white Americans.
