Gatlin carrying the American flag
Gatlin carrying the American flag
USA men win it in 37.38, Jamaica second in 37.68.
Team of Rodgers, Gatlin, Gay and Bailey is enough to hold off Bolt on the anchor. Gay broke it open with a great back-stretch run.
Reminder that Rodgers, Gatlin and Gay have all served drugs bans in their careers.

I had Rowbury at 4:27.9. She was way faster than 4:36.
So i was watching after everyone else (had to watch some 9th inning drama on tv - i love the rewind feature on sling).
Anyway, i was timing the runners as they ran. It was funny as they said Wilson took it out slow. She did not.
i had her 558.6 for the first 400 so that Kenyan that gained on her must have been 58 low. So 58.6-61.7. I had 2:00.3 (200.28) very good. She was the best on that leg but the DMR was really handed to the AMericans with the 400 leg by SRR. Crushed it.
Completely embarassed to be an American when represented by a team of 3/4 dopers coached by a doper.

I wouldn't call what Gay served a "ban."

Weldon - please give me a call. We need the 4 x 800 splits. IAAF doesn't have them up and I don't want to go back to retime them.

And so has their coach. And so has UK's Richard Kilty's coach. And so has Bruno de Barros of Brazil. And so has Nesta Carter of Jamaica. And so has their wild card in Blake.
Gatlin ran the back stretch.

You're right, I meant Gatlin. He was the one who broke it open.

actually
Gay ran the 3td leg curve and Gatlin ran the 2nd leg backstretch
Any Idea why the m4x8 splits are not up? Universal used some kind of tape delay in the broadcast. made for a tighter show but it was not live for some(all?) the races.
Rojo said the 4x800 splits are up somewhere. Rojo post the link.
4x100 press conference just ended.
Usain Bolt said in the mixed zoen the loss to the US will just make Worlds more interesting.
I asked Gay and Gatlin with them having tested positive and Dennis Mitchell testing positive, what do sort of messages does it send to kids who wonder if they can compete clean, as it seems both of them decided they couldn't compete clean.
;
Gay is a straight shooter and answered the question. Said he never deceived anyone, he took some stuff he thought was legal and it wasn't.
Gatlin did not answer the question and never has accounted publicly for his suspension.
Splits are up now. According to my math:
Solomon - 1:47.60- 52.021st lap.
Sowinski - 1:44.75 - 49.62 1st lap
Loxsom - .1:45.59 - 49.09 first lap
Andrews - 1:46.90 - 50.40 first lap
Kenya #1 - 147.52
Kenya #2 - 1:47.80
Kenya #3 - 1:47.34
Kenya #4 - Finishing time isn't listed. If i put them .50 ahead of Kenya (which i don't think it was that much), then he only split 1:48.75
Poland #1 - 1:48.28
Poland #2 - 1:48.27
Poland #3 - 1:46.80
Poland #4 - 1:46.73

How insane is it that Tarmoh and Felix (the two women at the center of the 100m controversy at the 2012 Olympic Trials) were the two women involved in the exchange?
Hightower suggests we flip a coin to see which one to blame.

Aren't they semi-good to good friends?
Bad exchanges are typical for 4x2's also, long legs, short arms, high speed etc.

yeah that sounds like honest straight talk all right, did he mention what the stuff was?
Nesta Carter has never served a doping ban. Show me a link. Blake did though - 3 months for a stimulant in a popular supplement that had a chemical structure that was similar to something on the prohibited list.
Rojo, those 100ths are not significant.
not sure if anyone mentioned it - in the USA's mens 4 x 1 heat gay clearly stepped out of his lane. I wish the US had been dqd for that, f'in 75% dopers.
