Bolton is a first class guy and coach! He would never allow someone to dope in his group!! Now some guy may have doped on his own without the knowledge from Bolton. But don't be attacking a guy who would never condone drug use Douche!
Aliphine, is that you?
Competitor.com:
"Bolton says her training has included a mix of base, speed endurance and neuromuscular work. “Caro responds well to decent volume and averages around 105 miles a week during heavy training periods,” he said. “At times she’ll get up to 125 or so a week. Long runs range from 14 to 24, depending on time of the season and intensity of the workout.”
Rotich, who suddenly finds herself is in negotiations with shoe brands for a sponsorship deal this week, ran her perfect race on Monday, utilizing the strategy prescribed by Bolton. Expecting a strong headwind on the day, Bolton told Rotich: “Do not stick your nose into the wind until you have to cover a move that’s a critical move; and/or at 35K, it’s take the gloves off and start racing … and, that’s exactly what she did.” Bolton jokes that friend and fellow triathlon coach, Jimmy Riccitello, tweeted after the race about the cycling and drafting tactics that Bolton employed from his triathlon experience. And, Bolton affirms Jimmy was “spot on” with his tweets. “We were basically using cycling tactics, because of the conditions,” he said."
So a 40 year old runner takes EPO and anabolics to run frequent races, including a 2:14 in heat and humidity for 4 grand, and the coach can't see what's going on.
How is this not bigger news? Boston winner and runner up ETHIOPIAN....Runs with group wha have had more than 2 positives. Welcome to the land of no accountability

Bigger news?? Who cares?
IAAF doesn't care, they don't even blood test. USATF care? No.
Sports like running and cycling rely on so few hardcore fans to know enough to be able to put together, "so-and-so just won XYZ and is training in New Mexico where blah-blah-blah"
Buy, hey, USATF got a good Nike sponsorship deal, theoretically, since it's a secret, and BAA is apparently still landing the sponsors, so everything is great.
National/International governing bodies have nothing to do with drug testing, which is done by USADA/WADA/World Marathon Majors/etc.. All these Kenyans and Ethiopians living in the US- you think they're being drug tested out-of-competition by their home country anti-doping agencies? Caroline probably is, from participating in the World Marathon Majors who do their own indepedent drug testing. But what about all the hundreds and thousands of these foreign runners in the US who are not US citizens? Who's holding them accountable?
World Marathon Majors do their own drug testing? How often? Any aggregate reporting of results? No.
IAAF does not even pretend to have a bio-passport. WMM isn't going to fund one.
No transparency, no confidence.
I spoke to Bolton today on the phone. To set the record straight, he never coached Mutinda. He said that there are several groups of Kenyans in Santa Fe and that Mutinda was not in his one.
Yawn
What a surprise

Have you not been following? Jeptoo was caught because the WMMs are paying for drug testing out-of-competition to hold their athletes accountable.
I'm not aware that Bolton does any coaching for Mutinda. Has this been reported on somewhere?
Spoken like Hillary Clinton. Was does it matter?

Thanks for the info, but it contradicts this newsletter here which lists them in the same group (scroll to 3rd page)

Did he have any comment on Jynocel Basweti?

"Basweti, who finished fourth here last year, claimed his fourth marathon victory in 2010 on Saturday. He has been training in New Mexico with the AmeriKenyan Running Club and is coached by 2000 U.S. Olympic triathlete Ryan Bolton"

Mutinda and Rotich were in the same group under Robinson several years ago, but Rotich switched agents a while ago and is now represented by Isaya Okwiya. Bolton used to coach a couple of Robinson's athletes (not Mutinda) but broke away from Robinson to form his own group years ago because they he and Robinson had disagreements about how to handle the athletes' racing schedules. Basweti, like Mutinda, was in Robinson's group but not coached by Bolton.
I hope this clears things up. Bolton does not want to be associated with Robinson and doesn't want to see his (or his athletes') reputations tarnished for being lumped in with someone like Mutinda.
June 2009
"Moses Kororia, Caroline Rotich, and Joseph Mutinda showed up to talk about their race training and preparation along with club laisons John Thornell, Matt Desmond and 2000 Olympian Ryan Bolton"
So they were all in the same club at one time.
I know for a fact that Bolton was originally helping with the AmeriKenyan group but left in 2010 when he didn't agree with the practices of the agent. When he left he took a select few athletes (i.e. Haron Lagat, Aron Rono and Caroline Rotich) with him. Those athletes then signed with new agents but continued to be coached by Bolton. Bolton only coached a few athletes in the AmeriKenyan group and took those three with him when he left (the three mentioned above). He never coached Mutinda or Basweti. He did interact with them, but never exclusively coached them. Since leaving the group in 2010, I'm pretty sure he hasn't had any contact with the remaining AmeriKenyan athletes or their agent. Bolton is a very principled dude. If he knew a athlete were doping, I'm pretty sure he'd kick them onto the street.
