He seems to be in good shape based on his PR in Berlin last year and his fast 10K two weeks ago. Was he interviewed by Letsrun.com during media day?

Read it this morning. Pretty good article. Nice to see him take motivation from his humble upbringing. Hope he does well tomorrow.
Yes, very nice article on him. Didn't realize he was 33 already. He's been consistent 2:11-2:12 on fast courses. Hope he can get a minute or so faster for the trials. He has a new fan.OAN - This sentence is really troublesome: "He has accomplished this in obscurity, a persistently ascendant outsider in an American distance running culture dominated by participants who are white and more affluent." While true, it doesn't have to be that way. Running is the cheapest sport one can get into. Sneakers, old shorts and a tee-shirt. No helmets, bats, gloves, court time, ice time, travel teams, high-priced video analysis. It is so easy to start, very easy to get even minimum coaching. If you have talent, it will show. It shouldn't be an white dominated sport. Maybe the Leos, Fernandos and Brendas of the hispanic running community should get out there and 'recruit'..
