At least he's going to have to run hard from start to finish-lets see if Mo is as good as Bekele was.
Should be fun to watch.
SC: If you face world champion Mo Farah, how will you beat him?
GK: I’m going to train very hard and do a lot of speed work. For me, running 10,000m, I will go with a high pace throughout the event until the finish. I don’t want to go a slow pace and then at the end someone can kick [in] 52 [seconds for the last 400m]. So, for me I’ll go with the high speed until the end. By then no one will have the strength to kick because of the high pace they have been coming through.

If he does that neither him or Farah will win , the gold will go to someone else who will sit and wait

Anyone but Farah 2016.
Need three Kenyans to alternate 60/68 per lap for 25 laps. -

What??
If he makes a surge, only a few will follow, if he makes a surge and Farah follows, EVERYONE will go w/ him, meaning everyone is going to be hurting just as much, and just how much is Kamworor's 10k ability compared to Farah's? They could probably both go upper 26:20's, but I doubt anything that Kam does is going to wear out Farah if he waits til 3k to go, but even then if he went at 7k to go or so, that's a lot to be leading by yourself, he'll need to other Kenyan's/Ethiopians to help him, Farah can be beat, but it'll be tough
But I don't think some 3rd person will win by "sitting and waiting" when Kam is cranking out 61's and 62's, that's more like "hold on for dear life and hope you have a kick at the end" -
This get rumored every year and doesn't happen.

He's got the right idea, but if it was that easy, some else would have done it. It is very hard to run out front at a fast pace for 25 laps. He would have to work with another Kenyan to keep the pace fast and nowadays Kenyan athletes don't seem to have that unselfish attitude anymore. Also, Mo has run a 26:4x 10K, so it not like he can't run fast. -
I'd think that this would be his best chance for success. I'd be surprised if Farah is not completely ready for it though and will be surprised if Farah still doesn't win.
It'll be interesting to see how the Prefontaine 10,000 will go at the end of May because Kamworor says he's going to go full bore in that as well. -
Agreed, it didn't work out too well for him at world XC. Oh wait...

You beat me to it. :) -
Farah just has to stay in contact, not up front. Look at his last half. He was dropped, or so they thought, but he knew he was close enough.

No, he just got lucky that he wasn't facing great competition. The race was only won in about 59:30, right? -
Are you sure Kamworor is as good as Tadese? Even if he pushes the pace and Farah wins, that doesn't prove anything about Farah comparing to Bekele.

Mo is an old man now. Too many miles on his legs. An ego has grown huge, and is set for a major beat-down. -
Yeah, only.

This doesn't work in a race where both men can run under 27 minutes. These aren't 30 min 10k NCAA runners going out on 28:30 pace... -

LOL. Exactly. -
It could be interesting. It may be in Farah's advantage to have the race faster than not. Someday someone is gunna come along again who has a better kick on the day (like Jeilan did). If Mo is capable of running into the 26:30 and even 26:2x time frame, he might be better off with a faster pace than a slower pace.

Why are you stressing "only" and lol-ing? 59:30 is over a minute behind the somewhat soft world record. It's a solid time but nothing great. Like a 26:45 10k. Certainly good, but far from a truly great time. -

Worst strategy posted yet. That's pretty much what they did in 2012 while Farah ran an even pace and saved his energy. -

Okay, keep debating with the other 15-17 minute 5Kers about how soft the HM world record is, you still missed the point of the post entirely.
