Ahmed Baday is banned for doping after IAAF found his biological passport too weird. His results has been annulled from 26 March 2010, two days prior to the 2010 World Cross Country Championships, where his compatriot Chakir Boujattaoui tested positive for MIRCERA.
Baday is set to loose the gold from the Half Marathon at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, where he beat Ruggero Pertile, Wissam Hosni and Muzaffer Bayram.
The ban is listed in the last update of IAAFs list of currently sanctioned atheletes:

Funny how the IAAF backdates his ban to December, giving him a 2 year ban instead of 4 years. Ridiculous.

It was the same for Driouch, his ban runs from 31 December, Baday from 30 December. The national federations have probably had the cases for quite some while, dragging their feet, and then they finally acted at the last days of the old WADA Code, allowing for half the length of the bans.
It still doesn't beat the Russians. Some of the high profile cases (Olympic champions etc.) announced this January had violations dating back to 2009. -
Wow, another dirty effing Moroccan. I'm shocked. I really hope that makhloufi eventually gets pinched.

These "bans" are a joke. Idiots like these should be banned for life.

How loose do you think his gold will get? -

One good thing is, dopers rarely return to form after a ban. -
Clean world-class Moroccans seem to be as common as clean world-class Russians, which we now know to be slightly less common than Loch Ness monsters.

Except when they get gold medals in the Olympics.

Makhloufi isn't Moroccan. -
Salah Hissou and El G were the only clean runners from Morocco in my opinion. They were no more druggies than Lagat was.

Pro running is kind of a joke at this point

I'm getting tired of this crap. On one hand, compared to other sports, athletes have to go through a much more thorough drug testing system. They must declare where they'll be at certain times etc.
However, what the hell is the point of someone like Lisa Dobriskey following all the protocols, filling in all the paperwork etc. just to get beat in the Olympic final by an athlete who had already been caught taking drugs years before. That person should never have been allowed to compete again at that level ie banned for 6/8 years or more.
I believe in athletics and I want to believe that the athletes I watch aren't cheating. But as a fan my faith is always being undermined by the pathetic backdated 2 year bans that are given.
Driouch was training with Mo Farah for christ sake, it's just unacceptable that Driouch will be able to rock up in a couple seasons and possibly pick up where he left off. Ridiculous, he should be gone for waaay longer than what he's got.
Sorry, I'm ranting cuz I just watched a video of Mohammed Mourit destroying the field at the World Cross 2001, at Belgium. That performance was stupidly good, of course he got caught doping. He never got back to his drugged performances (7:26 3km!), but he should never have been allowed back. Nothing's changed in over a decade in terms of dealing with dopers sternly and with sincerity. -

Indeed.

"Makhloufi isn't Moroccan."
- I can certainly see how you would have thought I was implying that. It was just a bonus random thought. Much the same, I hope the curtain comes crashing down on Farah as well. This BS needs to stop. -
What happens if after an olympic games we find out that the gold, silver and bronze medalists of an event such as the 1500 meters .. all get banned for drug use? As well as 4th place and there all from the country of morocco.
The medals then go to 5th 6th and 7th place years later. How does this affect these athletes and their olympic experience?
then after all this samples are retested years later and we find that 5th place was doping.
Does that same gold medal get passed from doper to doper like the stanley cup does each year? -
