Kudos to Grant, a great run and hopefully he can break 4 this upcoming outdoor or possibly indoor???
But the real question is, was this a good example of running on hate? Or that newfound training method "compassion"?

3rd place was Anthony Berry.

Make of that what you will.
obviously a good step to run this solo and close very well the last 200m. This is 4:06.xx for the mile if that was really a 1600m. His coach has said that each race will have him working at something specific. Here he went out close to 4:00 pace (2:01), slowed down a good deal, and then closed hard in 27.
Quick look at the results shows Brazier won the 800 in 1:52, but what caught my eye is second place was 1:53 and happens to be Fisher's teammate. Their high school seems to have at least a 51/52 man in the 400m so could a high school DMR record be in the cards? Missing a 1200 leg as of now (I don't know the team that well, so can't say if they actually have one) but a 51, a 1:53 guy and a proven 4:05 man that can do it solo has a shot at the record.
Wetzel
Even with Alan Webb and two sub 1:56 runners, the DMR record didn't last long for South Lakes and it went down to LetsRun's favorite entrepreneur Chris Lukezic and his Auburn Washington team.
No it didn\'t. Webbs team 9:49. Next year CL team was 9:50. Auburn set the 4x8 record tho. 7:32.89 I think.

Hi Bruce.
Re-read my first post and you'll see that YOU weren't thinking very clearly:), a reputation that you seemingly deserve:)
I was in 3rd, but I never said what race it was in (re-read it).
I also was happy with my effort.
My post read that he pulled away from us very easily, but I never said Grant did (possibly 3200????, who knows:)).
This is what you old folks get for ruining what was a good site in the beginning, not the work of the typical high school runner.
Take care:):):)
"You old folks".
Please do us all a favor by never revisiting LRC. I'm in high school, not one of the "old folks that ruined a good website", and its very clear you're a smart ass teenager that not many people like. Take your clever comments back to Twitter where every user is just as annoying and full of themselves as you are.
Wetzel did not run any open events?
I was there. Brazier won the 800 with a 1:52, Wetzel was supposed to be in the mile but was out sick.

This post is beyond idiotic, and a great example of why high schoolers should not be allowed to post on here.
Evan Jager is that you?(too soon?)
solid effort
Wetzel looks as good if not better than any of them.

Won by 11 seconds. Nice.
It was really awesome to watch, even with my son in the race. I was on the North Curve (75M to finish line) and there were so many people everywhere you could not see the runners except at your little spot. Grant would zoom by and then there was a pause and the 2nd group came by. The 2-5 guys all know each other and knew they were going to duke it out for 2nd and that was a nice race. 2nd place ran what Connor Mora did a few years ago when he won in 4:15.
Grant's last 200 was crazy and he almost LAPPED two runners who ran 4:30. So in reality it was a time trial embedded in a race. But very cool to see. He's on another level without question.
Wetzel was out sick all week but demanded to be in the DMR. You gotta love that attitude. The lead off and anchor legs ran out of their minds in their 3rd and 2nd races of the day. Anchor Kevin Hall ran a PR in the open 1600 winning section one then anchored the DMR in 4:20 for another PR!
Just watched to video. I think his final 400 was about 55 secs. Impressive.
I was skeptical that he'd break 4:00 but now I think it's a lock for outdoor this year (unless he gets hurt of course).
Wetzel / Flournoy / Brazier / Fisher
BOOM! 9:28 - 9:31 or better
This would be a show to see if they were allowed to run this Al-Star relay. This High School team could post a DIV 1 NCAA time.

That would be exciting. But alas... The MHSAA, with heads in the sand and forever trying to police Michigan high school sports to Mediocrity, would shun such an attempt at excellence.
Who cares!! No one gives a flying patootie about all-star high school relays. Just like no one cares about all-star college relays! Sure, Cheserek, Najee Glass, Kemboi, and Christian Soratos could rock a DMR, but you don't see anyone getting hot and excited about the prospect.
Because it's pointless. The only place for "all-star" relays is at the Olympics and World Championships.
It is pertinent because it demonstrates the caliber of Athletes in Michigan. A state which typically receives no credit for virtually anything but debt, has many of the best male and female track & field athletes in the country this year and that they are at par with many top collegiate athletes. That was the sole point of the message. Your post is pointless as it draws nothing constructive to the conversation whatsoever.
Watched the video of the race and interview.
Very impressive given he essentially ran 61, 61, 65, 57 on his own and stating that was his plan (go out hard for 800, relax for 400, and finish strong).
The race for second was fantastic as was the entire meet.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
