20x200 moderate hills 3/week and 8-10 mile 4/week
300's at 5:00 mile pace work well. As you get closer to the race you want to break 5:00 in, shorten the recovery.
I usually do 300's with a 100 jog when I'm really close to peak.
WTF is a "clean" workout?
12 x 400 @ 72, 1:00 recovery
I usually clean stables with a snow shovel and a shop broom. Sometimes a pitchfork if it's really bad.
Try showering both before and after your workout, that should assist with keeping it clean. The difficult part is going to be footing. Are you utilizing riding boots in your stable workouts currently? Maybe try something with a little more traction in the dirt.
8x600m at mile pace has been a staple in my program
2 Mile Threshold + 16x200m Repeats at 800m pace
3x5-1-3 500m at 800m pace, jog 100m then all out sprint 300m 12 mins rest between each set of 5-1-3
3 x 800 with 400 jog recovery: 2:35, 2:30, 2:25.
