Good advice: Research and you will find a long list of accomplished runners who did not run at the D1 level. A track is a track is a track from Oregon to Maine and speed is speed. As the NCAA like to promote in it's commercials "95% of us will go pro in something other than athletics". Find an academic program that fits you and your grades. If that means a lower level in D2/D3 or Jr. college, in the short term it may be an investment for you or your family but there is money if you are willing to look for it at those levels to offset if not completely pay for those costs which a D1 school might pay more. Remember it is atypical for D1 schools to pay runners 100% of all costs and more typically it ranges from 25-50% depending on if you are among the rarest of the rare.
