Although is is a long way off, I am going to be doing cross-country again in the fall and want to be as best prepared as I can possibly be. Unfortunately I cannot do outdoor track, as it just does not fit in to my schedule with my commute in and out of school and homework. Our team is one of the best in the country, and is very competitive. I am therefore willing to do anything it takes to make the varsity team. So, over the summer, I am planning to do 5 miles in the morning, swim at noon, and run another 5 in the evening. Does this make sense? It would add up to somewhere about 900 miles total for the summer. I feel like my workouts should be mixed up a bit, rather than just pounding out distance, the same amount over and over. I don't have a track anywhere near me, so the most accurate I could get in measure distance is about 1/10 of a mile. Thanks guys!
By the way I'm in high school if for some reason that makes a difference
