it would be cool if Koech won in front of a giant pack of ethiopians

I don't like racing at sunrise, but some of these views of Dubai are spectacular.

22nd km was 3:00
What a train wreck. Slowing down considerably now....Colour me surprised if they finish under 2:05. Snooze.
predicted time is 2:04:44 right now
That guy Koech is looking killer smooth!!
I really wish the announcer would figure out that 21km is NOT halfway.
Tigist Tufa still on 2:17:57 pace through 20 km... all alone!
23rd km was 2:58
Still a pack of about 20
Hopefully it speeds up to low 2:04

See my post about being spoiled.
A 2:04 flat isn't a truly fast time? We need to put this in perspective.
It's 2 seconds per mile off the WR. When is the last time we say at 26:30 10k or a 12:45 5k? That's what we're talking about.
A 3:46 mile is only 2s per mile off of the wr. Its all about scale.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the pacers drop. With that many men up front, you've got to think someone is feeling good and will take it...
km #24 was 3:00. Debele falling off the pack, Koech running up front with the pacers looking smooth.

WIth this many guys still in the pack, I do not think that 2:03:HI is out of the question. They "just" need to split sub-1:01:40 in the 2nd half. As crazy as it sounds, that is a very real possibility in today's marathoning world.
19k to 24k covered in 14:55 (2:05:52 pace). They are slowing down, as you may have guessed.
59:03 was the official 20km split.
1:05:23 for the lead woman.
Just caught this. Is bekele out??? Don't see him!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
