Im a miler mostly when it comes to track (PR: 4:40) and im trying to hit in the 20s in this year. Thats beside the point though. I did pretty well in XC (16:15 3 mile 16:55 5k), and I dont consider myself to be bad on the endurance side of things, but everytime my coach asks me to double up on events on a meet I end up doing way below par on the second event. Ex: the other day I ran a decent 2:45 1000m but followed it with a mere 5:03 mile, but with the mile first I can hit low into the 4:40s. Other competitors around my level from other schools dont seem to have this problem. Is it something I can alleviate?
