As much as I dislike Pembroke, I'd have to agree.
Bishop Feehan girls, Pembroke boys.
You can make a good case in Michigan for the Grand Rapids Christian girls, although they're a Division 2 team. Step up to D1 and they'd have to contend with Birmingham Seaholm, Grosse Pointe South and Saline, among others.
GRC's boys won their first D2 state title ever last year. Good for them, but over the last five years they are nowhere near Milford, Rockford, Waterford Mott and other D1 powers.

Over the last five years it's been Bozeman, Montana for both boys and girls. The girls have a streak of 8 in winning state and the boys have a streak of 7. The girls team made NXN in 2010 (2nd to Jesuit at NXNNW) and 2013 (winning over Bellarmine Prep at NXNNW). The Bozeman boys team had their best NXNNW finish in 2010 taking 7th.

Bozeman girls have not been defeated by any Montana team from any class for the past 5 years in any race.
For Idaho girls, I agree that Meridian is a contender but over the last 5 years I'd say it's clearly Coeur d'Alene.

Girls is accurate but I would also add Gillette to the guys. Also, Natrona.
Brentwood Academy, Baylor, and McCallie cannot be overlooked for all time. Oak Ridge had a great 07 team, but DII teams previously mentioned have the all time most cumulative success.
Also, not to forget individually DII may have the most footlocker make qualifiers of all the divisions. Along, with two footlocker regional champs (Bumbalough and Matthews).

This is kind of a difficult question as it depends on what "best" is defined as. In terms of putting kids on the starting line of FL Nationals, the "Best" isn't Bozeman.
Yes, Bozeman top 5 would beat everyone else's top 5, but they have a lot more kids in their school. Look at a school like Big Fork, they have what, 5-6 girls on their team? And 2 of them ran at FL Nationals this year.
In terms of Utah, sure, Davis girls are really good, but they have 80 or so on the team. Show me a team that has 5 girls and 2-3 of them are all-state or even national calibre, and that to me is the best team, or at least the team you want your kids running for.
Any coach, and I use that term loosely, can take 100 girls and put them through a grinder and end up with 5 girls that run 19. Show me a coach or team that can start with 5-7 girls and have two of them running 17 minute 5k, and I'll take that team as being "Best".

Understatement of the century. Carmel has been to the state meet every year since '76.. 39 straight. 13 titles. 10 runnerup. Indiana is also single class.

By placings maybe West Valley boys (2,2,1,1,3) in the past 5 years. But Kodiak has an amazing program for a relatively small school.
Girls Wasilla (winning 2010-12) and Anchorage West (won 2013-14) have been the best.
Small school Grace Christian wins almost every year, and they run well against the bigger schools.

Oak Ridge and Baylor have 8 titles each. McCallie and Brentwood Academy have 5 each.
No mention of Newton North boys? I can count 3 all state team titles (indoor, outdoor, indoor) in the past couple of years, not sure about before that. Girls aren't bad either

"past five years" being key here and thus, no way. Laramie and Rock Springs and then … nobody else. for kicks I looked into Natrona and they have been in the bottom half of the State for the last 4 years- And with the state being Wyoming, that is really saying something.
Girls: Seaholm and Saline

If they're winning indoor cross country titles they must be damn good!
