I'd have to disagree, since Milford won the state meet 3 of the last 4 years (2011, 2012, 2013). Mott is a very good team though.

I graduated high school in 04, so you can see where my Rockford Bias comes from. Haha.

Pembroke. 3 DII All State titles (+1 close 2nd) and 2 NXN appearances in past 5 years (also AS title in '09, but beyond the scope of the question)
Georgia:
Boys: Brookwood with no one in sight behind them... State AAAAA/AAAAAA Champs in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and NXN appearances in 2009 and 2010 (NXN-SE Champs in 2009, runners-up in 2010). Arguably the best team in the Southeast over the past decade with Brentwood the only viable alternative.

Boys: Carmel

Great Oak has been very strong the last couple of years, but Saugus probably gets the nod over a 5 year (or longer) stretch.
Nope, its Great Oak. Look at the scoreboard.
^True.
Saw this thread, and you said exactly what I was thinking. One thing is Summit definitely has to be thrown in there, for both guys and girls, they always dominate state for 5A. It'd be interesting to see how they would do at 6A.
Touché
I didn't consider 5a but Summit would be strong contenders for both boys and girls. Of course, they should just move 6a up to make it a fair fight.

Viable alternatives:
Midlothian
St. X
Broughton
But, you're right, Brookwood has been very good. I'd put them second in the Southeast over the past five years behind Brentwood and first if we go back a decade, with Midlothian behind them.
Brentwood is an odd situation, though. They have not had a consistent coaching regime during the past ten years. The only constant recently has been the private coach that many of the team members pay to coach them. Obviously, he's a strong coach, but that doesn't make Brentwood a "program."
Boys: Dowling Catholic, 2 titles in past 4 years, 4 top 3 finishes in past 5. Only Iowa boys team to ever qualify for NXN
Girls: Dowling Catholic, 6 titles in 8 years, no further justification necessary

I can remember a few years ago when my oldest son (now a senior in college and a 400 guy) was running for Dana Hills, which at the time was in the middle of 3 straight state XC titles and 2 or 3 NTN appearances. Great Oak came to compete, and two years in a row got totally wiped out. They literally started with nothing 6 or 7 years ago.. But what has happened since then is how you build a championship program from the ground up.
And I suspect that you will need to change your ranking order next fall.
