There is no violence problem you bunch of droning half-wits.
Slightly more than 10,000 out of 300 million Americans are killed by guns every year, some by their own selves. 1 out of 30,000, or 0.0033 percent. That's only half as many as are killed by drug-resistant staph infections and a third as many as by auto accidents. The number has been declining steadily for years.
So all of you saying that guns are dangerous and need to be controlled are WRONG.
And all of you saying that you need guns for protection are EQUALLY WRONG.
Next time you hear about someone killed by a gun, try to assemble 300 million of something, one at a time. That will give you some perspective. In a nation of that many people, OF COURSE someone's gonna get shot. Every day. Big deal. Kick the news habit.
Oh wiggo, wiggo, wiggo. Where to begin? Because a country has a lot of people, therefore one should EXPECT 10,000's of them to get killed by guns each year, and not bat an eyelash??? And because there are other factors that result in lots of deaths (sometimes to the elderly) and cause more deaths than guns, then.....who cares about gun deaths, they're no big deal? THAT's your "reasoning" ???? And *you* are the one calling people "half-wits" ?? With this last post of yours (and others), you've registered barely a half-step above the "LIBTARD BUTTHURT!" guy.
Not to mention you messed up your stats royally. Apparently you began looking at homicide rates, but then moved on to total guns deaths and conflated the two. Because......your #'s are way off. You stated that "slightly more than 1 out of 30,000 Americans are killed by guns every year, some by their own selves", when it is 1 in TEN thousand. Whoops, off by 3x! (yes, you were discussing the issue of "violence", but you mentioned suicides and the issues of guns not being dangerous[which includes the issue of accidents], and wrote about a total # of gun deaths. So you got confused.....you half-wit). And this gun death total is actually very close to the # of auto deaths per year, a # that has been dropping rapidly (you erroneously said that GUN deaths have been dropping, they have not), and could be a lot lower if we actually enforced our speeding and drunk driving laws.
http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/07/16/gun-deaths-versus-car-deaths/Lastly, lots of other countries have LOTS OF PEOPLE, but don't have LOTS (or at least "lots" compared to us) of gun deaths. Does the UK have a "lots" of people? Of course. How many gun deaths per 100,000 do they have (the US has 10 per 100,000) ? 0.25. FORTY X less than us. And Japan, do they have lots of people? Sure, 127 million. Try lining up 127 million of something, you'll see, it's a lot, I promise you. And how many gun deaths per 100,000? 0.06. Yes, you read that correctly:
ZERO POINT ZERO SIX. 170 x fewer guns deaths per capita than the good ol' USA And one of the main reasons why that is??
They have way, way, WAY less guns in their country than we do (same with the UK).
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2013/09/19/u-s-has-more-guns-and-gun-deaths-than-any-other-country-study-finds/And your conclusion from all of this is: "hey man, guns aren't dangerous, and there really are hardly any gun deaths in this country, this is just a made up issue by politicians and the media trying to get you on the "new habit" ". ???
I don't know what "habit" you've got, but it's f-cking up your brain badly, if this is your reasoning and conclusion.
