Look Bloomberg is the foremost proponent of gun control but he has said he favours gun ownership but wants certain controls like background checks. Seems common sense to me. Not sure why NRA and the far right opposes it
You do realize background checks are already in place, correct?
Every time a new gun is bought, the buyer fills out a 4473 NICS check which the FBI has to approve and give a 'PROCEED' prior to purpose.
What the NRA and 'far right' oppose are new gun laws which will do nothing to stop the violence problem, i,e, banning 'features like pistol grips and barrel shrouds, public registrations of gun owners (like sex offenders), and sin taxes on guns and ammunition.
Oh, and the things the NRA opposes are just those that the United States Supreme Court were already ruled Unconstitional in District of Columbia vs Heller, 2008.
Bloomberg and his buddies just like to forget this part...
